As my program starts in Wellington, New Zealand, I will part take in a Supply Chain and Logistics internship in the city of Lower Hutt with a company named DSV Air & Sea Ltd. It is a global logistics company that freight forwards anything that can be transported and customs cleared for local and national businesses. While interning my tasks and duties are to support the reporting manager in daily and administrative tasks. Assist in the analysis and reporting of air freight and sea freight volumes over periods to ensure balanced client portfolios. Provide assistance with integration of work processes into the customer services and transport team. Update DSV's operating system with client SOPs and organize profiles. Assist with any logistics projects that are actively taken place while I am interning. I have already started and finished my first solo project with the company. I have updated their 338 client portfolios in Cargowise1 system with the updated information about product delay alerts and contacts. Recently, I have started on my second project which is to consolidate all 2019 client's orders into a presentation so that they can have a meeting on company's growth and solutions to discrepancy. This task has been challenging due to the size of the data I am dealing with. Furthermore, my excel sheet formula knowledge is very rusty and its affecting the progress of the project. Yet, I am slowly progressing with the help of my coworkers. Additionally, I am helping the import department with their processing of PODs (proof of delivery receipts) updates on CargoWise1 daily. |
